Which baby milestones should be done in-studio?
Newborn - These are ALWAYS in-studio! Due to the needs of a newborn, the safest place to do a newborn session is in the studio! The temperature can be set to keep the baby cozy and warm, and everything mom and baby need is within arm’s reach!
3 Months - There are options when it comes to the 3-month session, however I do tend to lean towards studio for this one! The posing is limited to when you are outside the options are holding the baby or on a blanket. When you do the 3-month baby session in the studio, we have access to props as well as the posing table to allow the photographer to get more angles of the baby!
6 Months - This is a great session to do outdoors or in-studio! The decision for this one, in my mind as a photographer, is purely based on weather! If you baby is easily distracted in-studio does offer less environmental distractions but Easley Life Photography can help with choosing an outdoor location that will be perfect for you!
9 Months - Another great opportunity for an outdoor session! 9-month-old babies are mobile and ready to interact with their environment. Weather permitting, this is a fun milestone to do outdoors.
12 Months/1 Year - The deciding factor from a photographer’s perspective is, are you doing a cake smash session? If yes, in studio is the way to go! Cake smash sessions outside tend to involve grass and dirt mixing with the cake. Also, the ground is not always level and can present challenges with keeping the cake standing upright! If you are not doing a cake smash session, by all means, this is a great time in your little ones life to see them interacting with their environment!
